Aimed at Community groups across the Aberdeenshire area.
The programme includes presentations on: advice available from the Community Ownership Support Service and information about Government Policy affecting community asset ownership; Community Right to Buy, LEADER funding and the support available from Community Shares Scotland.
The afternoon will have round table sessions with the real experts – community representatives who have experience of planning, buying and managing community assets including; North Coast Connections – Tongue who run a community lunch club and venue for all sorts of events across all ages, Sunart Community Trust, Ardnamurchan funding a project through Community Shares and Maud Village Trust creating a vibrant multi-facility hub from a derelict site. There will also be an afternoon workshop on the Aberdeenshire Council’s Asset Transfer Process.
This is a free event; a light lunch will be provided.
