CPD Module 4 for Local Authorities - Developing Your Asset Transfer Process.

This is the fourth and final module in COSS' four-part programme on the Community Asset Transfer process.

Part 5 of the Community Empowerment Act (Scotland) 2015 came into law in January 2017.

As the support organisation funded by the Scottish Government to support Asset Transfer, COSS (Community Ownership Support Service) have been at the forefront of supporting groups to apply for Community Asset Transfers (CATs) using these new rights, as well as supporting Relevant Authorities to develop CAT processes that are Act compliant.

We have developed a CPD programme in Asset Transfer drawing from that experience and would now like to invite colleagues for across all 32 LAs in Scotland to join us.

There will be no cost for this programme.

The programme is designed for participants to go through all 4 webinars and to develop a support network amongst themselves, as well as with the COSS Advisors. It is increasingly important that CAT teams across Communities, Property, Legal and Economic Development in LAs have an understanding of the Asset Transfer process under Part 5.

We are asking that a maximum of 2 colleagues from each LA area sign up for this programme.

All webinars will take place from 10am -12:30, with a comfort break.

There are 4 webinars across the CPD programme. Each webinar runs twice:

CPD 1 – Eligibility and Governance
14/4/2021
15/4/2021

CPD 2 – The Asset Transfer process under Part 5
