A workshop by COSS (Community ownership Support Service) at DTAS (Development Trust Association Scotland). Funded by The Scottish Government.

Aims of the day

To introduce a range of ways to incorporate arts, media and events as sources of income to sustain your community facility. Using case studies from a selection of projects from across Scotland, the workshop aims to inspire and give practical guidance on the steps needed to implement these ideas in your own context.

Suitable For

Groups who are exploring alternative sources of income generation and looking for creative ways to involve the community, with a focus on the arts. The workshop is aimed at people who are running an asset or programming community events.

Cost

This event is aimed at supporting organisations engaged with the COSS/DTAS service, along with other community groups who are running an asset and will be free to COSS clients and  DTAS members, as well as community groups. If there are spaces available, staff from relevant support organisations will be able to attend.

14:00 – The Practical Tips Zone

We will set up a pick and mix of different zones covering how to run successful pop up events, audience segmentation and marketing, different models to balance the books, a tour of the Leith Theatre and more. Featuring Out of the Blue, Deveron Arts, The Leith Theatre Trust and Community Shares Scotland.
